Today, parents are facing challenging conditions in raising their children. Social realms, unimaginable expectations, media influence, negative news and tons of responsibilities, limit all parents in spending quality time, bonding with their children as well as teaching important values and family traditions. Children learn by observing, exploring and receiving examples. As a foreign mother, while developing her children, Aida Tentisheva discovered the beauty and tremendous (developmental) impact in reading positive and kind books to children. 

The Filiks Family. We are cooking (English title) | De Filiks Familie. We gaan koken (Dutch title) a picture book by Aida Tentisheva is about multiracial and multinational five-person family who are bonding, connecting, laughing and having fun while cooking their favourite dish together. This kind and positive book strives to connect and bond families through fun reading, positive emotions and inspiring behavioural examples. On one hand it aims to create an important, valuable and positive family base in the minds of the young generation. On the other hand, it serves as a helping hand for parents to teach their children important (invisible) values such as love, kindness, respect, equality, gratitude, support and family ties. 

The Filiks Family is a series of children’s picture books about the family’s different adventures, journeys, and fun stories that teach children about important life values, family traditions, and healthy lifestyles from a young age. It inspires parents and caretakers to experience the family a source of love, strength and energy. 

Both English and Dutch versions will be released on March 10, 2025 and already can be ordered via CB and other major bookstores online.

The author cordially invites you to join the book signing and reading sessions and you are most welcome to bring your children and loved ones: 

• Book signing session: April 13, 2025 at 13.30, at Stumpel Almere, Schutterstraat 33, 1315 VJ Almere
• Reading session 1: March 19, 2025 at 10.30 at De Nieuwe Bibliotheek, Stadhuisplein 101, 1315 XC Almere
• Reading session 2: March 21, 2025 at 14.30 at De Nieuwe Bibliotheek, Oostenrijkstraat 2, 1363 CB Almere

About the Author

Aida Tentisheva comes from the Kyrgyz Republic and settled in the Netherlands in her teenage years. When raising and developing her children through a variety of fun and educational activities, she discovered the beauty and tremendous impact of positive books. Having a creative and visionary mind, Aida is on a mission to educate, develop and raise up younger generations through positive, happy, educational and kind creations in different forms.
